To make a screen capture (in Windows):
1) Click on the "Print Screen" button on the top part of your keyboard. It's usually the 2nd button to the right of the "F12" button. Once you click on the button (nothing will seem to happen), keep reading...
2) Now go to Start->Programs->Accessories->Paint.
3) When the Paint program opens up, click on "Edit->Paste" at the top of the Paint program.. You'll now see your screen capture.
4) To save , click on "File->Save As..." on the top right side. Make sure you save it as a gif. The default will save it as a bmp which is WAY too large a file size. Plus if you are going to send the screen capture via email, you want to send a lighter sized file.
Save the screen capture on your computer, wherever you usually save your files. To make it easy, you can save it to your Desktop.
When you go to look for this screen capture, you will see it is saved wherever you saved it. Now, when you need this screen capture, you can attach it to an email OR save if for future use.
Why do I need to make a screen capture, you ask? There are many reasons to make screen captures. One important reason is, let's say you are getting an error or having a problem logging in some place. You submit a tech support ticket or email someone you know to try and solicite some help, right? Isn't it better to tell them AND show them a picture of what you are talking about? A picture will tell a 1,000 words!
If you are having troubles, or getting an error logging in somewhere, (as our client) and you send us a Tech Support ticket describing the problem, if you also include a screen capture of the problem or error, this will be most helpful to us. This way we can see what you see and help you further.
