If you have problems sending email from your email client, try sending an email from BummerMail.com . I you have important email to send out, you can always do so from Bummer Mail until you find the problem with your computer. If you are able to send via BummerMail.com, then the problem sending most likely has to do with one of the following (your ISP or email client configurations). If you have important email to send out, you can always do so from Bummer Mail until you find the problem with your computer.

*** If your getting an error using your email client that says something like "Cannot find server", try one of the following...

1) If your ISP is one of the Bell (phone) companies, then the port for sending email my be blocked. They'll do this without warning. So check with your ISP to see if they are blocking port 25. If they are, you'll have to contact them and have them unblock that port. If they claim they do not know what you mean, then you need to ask for a supervisor and make this request. It's a common request, as more and more ISP's seem to have port 25 blocked because of spam. If you are not spamming, there should not be a problem with the request to open
port 25.

2) Be sure to check each computer's email configuration, if you are using Outlook, Express, Incredimail, etc...(any email computer software client).

* Incoming is Pop3
* Outgoing is SMTP
* Both Incoming and Outgoing email servers are: mail.bummerhosting.com
* Be sure to check the box that says "My outgoing email server requires Authentication". You will not be able to send email without this box checked in your email configuration.
* You must also save the username (enter email address) and password in the configuration in order to send and receive email.

3) If everything checks out above, and you still cannot send email, it's possible your IP was blocked by our servers. This happens when you you try to access an illegal port. Some email clients will do this. If you suspect your IP has been blocked, please submit a Tech Support Ticket. You will need to send the IP of your computer for us to unblock. You MUST do this via Tech Support Ticket. If you are unsure how to determine the IP address of your computer, please submit this question in the tech support ticket. IP blocking can last from 4-6 hours, if not unblocked by us. To submit a Tech Support ticket, go here. Please be very specific when submitting a tech support ticket, regarding the problems you are having. Be sure to submit your login details, an any other pertinent information that will help Tech Support help you with your issue. Before sending a Tech Support ticket, be sure to check all the other possibilities listed on this page.

4) Be aware, if you are attempting to send out a mini mass mailing, Bummer Hosting only allows so many emails to go out at once from any one email account. For the same reason ISP's do this, mini mass mailings may be considered spamming. If you are not spamming but want to send out an email to more than several people, try sending only a few at a time. If you have already attempted to send a mini mass mailing, your IP may be blocked, so please check #3 above for info on blocked IPs.
