How do I install DRM to video and audio files already encoded?
If you already have your audio and video files encoded, you will need to re-encode your audio and video files to install the DRM.
Be aware, when your re-encode your streaming media files, there will be some lose of quality. Each time you encode you are compressing the files again, this is what causes the loss in quality. The best thing to do is start with the original files and to add the DRM at the same time you encode them. Encoding the original video and installing the DRM at the same time will allow you to maintain the original quality of your audio and video media.
The Bummer Hosting Solutions technicians can install DRM in to files which have already been encoded to Windows Media format. The cost for installing DRM is $3.00 per audio and video file. The streaming media must already be in Windows Media format.
There would also be a small additional fee for uploading the files to your web site or returning them to you via a CD, DVD, or portable hard drive. The charges vary depending on file size and the number of files.
