Administrative Chat Room Manager
|
General Information
Bummer Hosting chat supports several levels of user permissions. You can distinguish between normal users,
temporary operators, users who are a room owner, operators, administrators and the server itself. Please not the hierarchy... an
operator can kick any normal chat page user or a temporary operator, but they can not kick an administrator, etc.
When you first join the chatroom, you are logged in as a normal user without any special permissions. To become a chat
administrator or chat operator use the /pass command as seen below. In order to do this, you will need to know
the password for the chat administrator or the chat operator.
Available Commands-
/pass {password} - Use to become a chat administrator or operator. Lets say the password is "bhosting", without the
quotes. Once logged on to the chat page, you would then type: /pass bhosting
-
/user - This returns the chat operator or administrator back to regular user mode. You will need to type the chat administrator
or operator password as seen in the following example: /user bhosting
-
/warn {user} - Use this to give a warn a chat user. To do this you would type: /warn
user_nick where the "user_nick" is the chat user name you are issuing the warning to.
-
/freeze {user} - If you have a multi-room chat you can prohibit a user from changing rooms and chatting. To do so, you would
type: /freeze user_nick where the "user_nick" is the chat user name you are issuing the warning
to.
- /kick {user} - To kick a user out of the chat, you'd want to type the following: /kick
user_nick where the "user_nick" is the chat user name.
- /ban {user} - You can temporary ban user's
host ( operators, administrators ) by typing: /ban user_nick where the "user_nick" is the chat user
name.
- /info {user} - This displays user information including IP address. ( operators, administrators ). To do this, you
type: /info user_nick where the "user_nick" is the chat user name.
- /liftbans - This will
lift all the users you have banned. ( operators, administrators ). To do this, type: /liftbans user_nick
where the "user_nick" is the chat user name.
- /op {user} - This is for chat administrators and will temporary grant or
deny operator permissions. ( administrators ). Type: /op user_nick where the "user_nick" is the chat
user name.
